Course 28 uses the information from the Texas Comptroller of Public Account’s (Comptroller) Truth- in-Taxation (TNT) website as the primary learning material. Using said materials, the course is intended to discuss the nuances and laws that govern tax rate adoptions for cities, counties, school districts, small taxing units, water districts and all other taxing units. This course focuses on important statutory dates and timelines. Students will work with tax rate calculation worksheets in various scenarios.
This course is taught over a 2.5 day period with a review and exam. 18 TACA CE hours will be awarded for completion of this course. Courses with a TDLR approved speaker will be awarded 15 TDLR CE hours.
