Course 101 is one of two Property Tax Education Coalition, Inc. (PTEC) Courses designed to introduce students to the elements of the Texas Property Tax System. This course will cover topics including the definition and importance of property taxes and the levels of property tax administration. Additionally, students will learn the tax cycle including the four phases of the tax calendar; Appraisal, Equalization, Assessment and Collections.
This course is taught over a 2.5 day period with a review and exam. 20 TACA CE hours will be awarded for completion of this course. Courses with a TDLR approved speaker will be awarded 15 TDLR CE hours.
Course 102 is the companion course to 101 and may be taken in conjunction with 101, but is a separate course registration.
