About the Position

Travis County is seeking a new County Executive to oversee Technology & Operations, which includes more than 500 employees and a budget of $346 million. Under general policy direction from the Commissioners Court, this position provides executive leadership to departments such as:

• Compliance & Privacy
• Facilities Management
• Human Resources
• Information Security & Risk Management
• Information Technology Services
• Office of Security & Protection

This role also serves as the County's Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is a member of the County Executive Management Team.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
• Eight (8) years of professional management and leadership experience, including five (5) years at a senior executive level in IT or public sector management
• Experience developing strategic plans, goals, and budgets

Preferred: Master’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
